my problem usually has to do with the garbage power cord. "HEY! That pencil is strategically holding the power connection. Move it and the whole shit show goes down. No, they won't buy a new one."

we i moved from a field office to the main office, i noticed their network was unreliable. it was 4 - 5 hubs (breaking the 5-4-3 rule.) so i got the boss the approve a 5-port switch.

Man, I'm definitely feeling old, my "big boy" IT career started in 2003ish, long enough ago I'm not sure that number is correct. Either way, these hubs can still be found in the wild, in production.

Same, but was a student in a low income catholic school. Was one of the few that liked tech in the 90s. So if the comp lab teacher wasn’t there, they would have me “start” the internet (dial up)

I used one of those (tho mine I believe was only 10/100) setting up my first network at my home, I was so satisfied to see it working and watching the lights blink. I still love blinky lights 😭
