it does depend on your boss. but normally yeah as long as you're not told you're doing something wrong. you're on the right track. you're not a kid that needs praise 24/7

One interesting aspect is that in the USA you are always hoping for praise because of the hire & fire mentality. In Germany, it's not easy to fire someone = more employer commitment.
