My mom is exactly like this, and then she becomes a completely different person when she updates, friends or coworkers regarding any accomplishments or big news in my life and is extra enthusiastic..

Sometimes I also think they don’t like hearing about your adult life because they like pretending you’re still a younger version of yourself that they “had some control” over.
