I have never read a book quite like this before, the story takes place in the near future when a civil servant working for "The Ministry" is offered a promotion to work on a special project. She will become a "bridge" to "expats" who have been gathered from across history to establish whether time travel is feasible—for the body, but also for the fabric of space-time. The main character who is nameless other than her nickname "little cat" becomes tangled up in a plot to harm the expats and take control of the time travel door. She usually lives such a safe and predictable life and following for Graham, her bridge was not what she intended. Now she may have to choose between her duty or her heart. 💭 My thoughts This was one of the most unexpectedly unique books I have ever read. There was nothing typical about it. The time travel aspect was unique, the characters were quirky, along with the espionage twists Bradley also sprinkled in bits of history. There was so much that happened at the end of the book my only wish was that there was a little more closure at the ending of the book.
