I get it, gen z can be like that. in reality though, once the button is pushed we can't change things even if it is still even at the end. we can lose our job for adjusting change after the number

It’s not about the math. As an ex cashier- The till now says that a certain amount was placed into it. At the end of shift the till will say the employee was off- we get in trouble

Better to let the cashier know before they push the button. When they count down for the day and the receipts don’t match it throws the counts off. They’ll have to remember every time they do that 🙏

Bruh..This happened to me yesterday. Total was $13.87. I gave the girl $20.87. First off, instead of counting it, she just asked “how much change is this?” Then she gives me $17.13 back.
