@lancempi: Target Date Fund are trash and will leave you broke in retirement. While these funds promise a convenient solution by adjusting your investment strategy as you near retirement, they have significant flaws. They initially focus on riskier growth stocks to build gains, then shift to safer, more conservative choices. However, there are no guarantees that the fund's earnings will keep up with inflation or generate sufficient income. Target Date Funds are investments, not annuities, and are subject to risk and underperformance. They can also be expensive, as you must pay the expense ratios of the underlying assets and the fees of the target-date fund itself. Most importantly, Target Date Funds often fail to maximize your income during retirement, adhering to the outdated 4% rule, which can leave you financially vulnerable. Does this sound like the retirement solution you thought it was?
