@alisharevel: I think the struggle l've been having with finding my purpose is in trying to forget my past. But, recently a new friend I made said "wow I didn't even know you were engaged" and I felt a pang. I wasn't expecting a pang, tbh. Because for the past two years, forgetting was the goal. I didn't want to be known as the girl who left her fiancé. But the pang was there because leaving my fiancé and coming out on the other side has been hands down my number one triumph. The best thing I ever did for myself. The HARDEST thing I ever did for myself. And I am so, so proud of myself. And in trying to cover up the part of my history when I hit my lowest, then crawled all the way to the top step by step actually hid my victory from ME. I started to forget how hard it really was, and in doing so started to forget how incredibly proud of myself I am. I took these videos of me crying for times like these (I've always recorded moments of great emotion). And I had forgotten how hard, how low, how miserable I felt. Because life happens and I typically do. jor I share them online to remind just one girl, that you CAN do hard things, too. Even butt ugly crying. Even if it takes days (it took me 9 to pack & move). It took me months to stop crying. Years to start trusting again. But I did it. Through old heartbreak and new heartbreaks I pushed through. I survived. I'm thriving.
