core workout DETAILS: Ab training’ is often referred to as ‘core training’.  They are not the same thing. Ab training will work the abdominal muscles whereas core training will work the muscles that help stabilise your trunk. Whilst that includes the abs, they are two different things. Core training is the ability to create motion at the spine in all different directions and resist motion from all different directions. It improves your strength, power and athleticism. Developing a strong core is very useful and will help you with lots of other things including your other lifts in the gym and everyday movments.  I am someone who honestly never done ‘proper’ core training until recently. I realised by core is honestly not very strong and it is something I really want to work on. Getting a stronger core comes with so many benefits! I recommend you start adding a little core routine into your training too 👀. Workout: ☁️Kettlebell marches - 30 seconds  (Can be done with a dumbbell. Each side is 30 seconds) ☁️Around the worlds - 30 seconds  (Can be done with a dumbbell. 30 seconds clockwise then 30 seconds counterclockwise)  ☁️Bird-dog - 30 seconds  ☁️Deadbugs - 30 seconds  (A beginner doesn’t have to use weight) ☁️Leg raises - 30 seconds  (A more advanced trainer could use weight) ☁️Plank pass throughs - 30 seconds  (A beginner could use a light objects like a tennis ball) ☁️Plank - Hold as long as possible  ☁️Ab hold - Hold as long as possible  (If the ab hold is too easy, try a hollow body hold)  Have about 2 minutes rest and repeat.  Complete 3x.  If you are struggling, feel free to add some rest time between the exercises!  TIPS: Really focus on contracting your core. So many people say they can’t feel it but I promise you, if you are really focussing on contracting and squeezing you will feel it!! #abs #core #functionalcore #gym #workout #abworkout #oneractive
