Speech Delivered at the Graduation Ceremony of the Community Protection Assistants (CPAs) at Pwalugu Police Training School By: Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations), Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Abubakari Sana Abdul Kudus Date: Tuesday, 26th August 2025 Hon. Minister, MMDCEs, Director and staff of the Training School, Regional Director of YEA, Operations and Monitoring & Evaluation Managers, Graduands, Distinguished guests, members of the media, party executives, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency, Hon. Malik Basintale, the leader of the 5kmen and 3kwomen a group I am proud to be part of I bring you warm greetings from the YEA Headquarters. Today, we are gathered to celebrate the successful graduation of our Community Protection Assistants. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone of you for completing this important training. This milestone is not just a personal achievement, but also a national call to service. The President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, under his Reset Agenda, has given twelve thousand young men and women the opportunity to serve as Community Police Assistants. Out of this number, 2,597 of you were trained here at Pwalugu and are graduating today. Your responsibility now is to support the President’s vision for national development, which has already begun yielding results, such as the reduction of prices of goods and services in our communities. The implementation of the 24-hour economy, which has already started, will require your commitment, dedication, and professionalism. I encourage you to accept postings wherever you are assigned. When you are sent to the various communities, do not say “I don’t like this or that.” Rather, embrace the task, serve diligently, and work to earn the admiration of your communities. In doing so, when the time comes for transition into the Ghana Police Service, your immediate supervisors and other stakeholders will gladly recommend you, having observed your dedication and hard work. Furthermore, I wish to highlight that under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between YEA and the Ministry of Interior, 40% of committed CPAs will have the opportunity to transition into the Ghana Police Service. This is a rare opportunity one that you must seize by proving yourselves worthy. Today’s ceremony marks not just the end of your training but the beginning of your service to Ghana. I urge you all to go out there, serve your nation with pride, discipline, and commitment, and make yourselves and your families proud. Congratulations once again to all our gallant graduands. Thank you.
