I wrote this song the day I fired my last (6th manager) 3 years ago for being uninterested in me and my career dreams. I then planned and tried to release it when I was 6 months pregnant and I unfortunately didn’t get the help or support I needed from my label to do so, so the pre save link was pulled down and I decided to leave my label. I have then gone on to sing this song on TV, stage and whenever im near someone who can play 🎹 and knows it (@chuckharmony) Even though this song is still not available to buy, I sing it because the clarity and strength it gives me has made me make some of the best decisions in my career and life to date. Reminds me of my worth and power and what is important and true to me. This song reminds me that my dreams, goals and idea of joy is always bigger than any one person or label that doesn’t get it. Story of my career and sadly many other artists who deserve more. To be clear I have been managing myself and killing it tbh, and I am in the process of sorting the business side (which is 90% of this industry 🥱) of leaving a label after 19 years and splits and cuts and money and the list goes on and on and on… and I am a toddler Mum. But I am constantly working on it and I put on these random acoustic shows to keep the 10% of this industry alive. The MUSIC. The JOY. What it should be about. The music has been done for years. It’s everything else. But I am working on it. Just know that. Something to always remember whatever path you are on in life. Stay chasing the light that truly represents you and the right people will come and stand in it with you. I am manifesting that this song WILL be on my album that WILL be released next year and I WILL keep singing it until then for THAT FEELING. I LOVE to sing. Simple.
