My mom’s parents were country folk and lived in the woods. That was not my dad’s vibe so he rarely went with us to visit. We had more fun because he wasn’t there being miserable.

My last Xmas I had to bring my own dinner breakfast and blow up mattress to my partners rents house so his mom could tell me how she didn’t want to clean until we left becuse of our two 20 lb dogs

Yuuup! We don’t force being at every family event for each other, it’s so much better that way. Lol. I hang out with my family some Sundays and he’s with his 🤷🏼♀️

Yup. When we visit our home state, he goes with his fam & I stay with mine, including on holidays. His family is too much for me and I feel like I’m wasting time by not being with my family.

Me and my bf don’t mind each others families at all, but we don’t force the other to always tag along and some people make such a big deal about it. It’s so weird to me.
