So some of you asked what Agnes does with her days and this is pretty much it. Every morning when we get up the first thing we do is give Agnes a bath. We fill it a few inches full so she can drink and use the bathroom, drain it and fill it again. While it's filling she eats snacks and gets some good drinks in. Once it's full enough for her to float I'll help her do that for at least 15 minutes. Floating encourages beavers to drink and take deep breaths both of which are important for her recovery. After floating we drain it about halfway, soap her up and then open the drain and use the sprayer to rinse her. After that she will usually do a tiny bit of independent grooming until she's ready to get out. Then I pick her up like the big baby she is wrapped in a towel and sit her on another towel on the couch. I help her groom and dry off for for an hour after that. Then we remove the wet towels and put down some washcloths and she eats snacks until she's tired. She usually then prefers to flop over on her side against my leg and let's me comb her. If I hit a spot where the fur pulls she will sometime say ehhh, but usually she just rolls over further and goes back to sleep after a bit of comforting. And then we repeat it all as much as she wants. I figure she's bringing in the people and the donations so she's basically my boss right now. If she wants me to groom her fur for 10 hours a day and encourage her to eat I don't really get to say no since she obviously isnt out of the woods yet. Luckily we have an amazing team of staff and volunteers at The Pipsqueakery who can take care of all the other endless animals while I give Agnes the care she apparently wants. Anyway, she's a diva and I guess after all she's been through she's allowed to be a diva for a bit.
