I agree, narcissist word is used too much nowadays and every selfish person is "narcissist". It's possible but not every of them are. They can even have ASPD. Who knows.

It’s just another term no one really knows what it actually means. Like co dependency.

This is an interesting subject, as Dr. ramani (expert and pH.d in psychology) pointed out that we sometimes SHOULD call narcissistic behaviour for what it is - instead of finding any other label becau

However, it’s worth mentioning that it’s rare for people who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder to seek out treatment and get an actual diagnosis, so it’s a slippery slope.

It's an unfortunate trend to call someone narcissistic who doesn't agree with you in all aspects. Same with trauma. Overusing these words make the real conditions less important.

Narcissists can also act kind, thoughtful and selfless simply because they use those traits to make them more favorable, avoid criticism, gain praise or all of the above. You can tell the difference..

I had the misfortune of living with someone who has NPD for a year. These people are rotten to the core and destroy everything they touch. It's so much worse than selfishness.

No. Me "diagnosing" someone with NPD in 6 minutes if they are showing obvious traits doesn't diminish or change anyone else's experience. What kind of guilt tripping are you trying to do here, doc?
