In context I use color to establish tone. A character likes blue and surrounds themselves with it. But also if I establish that character as hyper and eccentric, then I can use that color later 1/2

it's really interesting when designing for a play figure out how to have the prop you've gone out of the way to get bc it's important onstage, but to do that without making it obvious it's important
