my parents should have realized i wasnt gender affiliated eary on. every one of my friends had boy pictures on their walls. i had dragons.

As a straight cis male kid of the 80s, I liked He-Man and Transformers well enough…But I identified with the boy characters on Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, and She-Ra, and wished I was there.

My father and aunt were born in the 60s. Not a single person batted an eye when he played with dolls or my aunt played football. Plus they were poor so all toys were for both of them, not gender based

When I was 5 years old my Grandmother bought me a Raggedy Ann and Andy. I loved them, but my Dad was so angry with her and teased me relentlessly about ithem. He was always disappointed that I didn't fit into the "Boy" mold that society had decided for me.

my mother raised me with the idea that gendered toys make no sense. my older siblings toys became my toys and that didn't matter that we had different sexes at birth
