No. 109 of 2014, as amended by G.N. No. 420 of 2025, an offence may result in a deduction of 1 or 3 points, depending on the offence. Under the Regulations, once the points reach zero, the driving licence is suspended for six months. Remember: Deduction of points does not replace any fine or other penalty applicable to the offence. However, the point system has not commenced official implementation. On 29 September 2026, the Minister for Home Affairs directed that the point system be halted pending a comprehensive review, involving drivers through their representatives and other stakeholders. The review will also consider public education and awareness, stakeholder views, and how comparable road-safety systems operate in other countries before further steps are taken. // Unajua kwamba leseni yako ya udereva ina pointi 15, na makosa ya barabarani yanaweza kupunguza pointi hizo?
