I 💯 did this. Add an ice cream cone to connect something enjoyable for the brain to connect to. My boys would ask for ice cream drives when they had something serious they wanted to discuss.

I never understood why parents bring their kids to the pediatrician to have these convos. It makes the kids uncomfortable and the Dr is worried the way they discuss these things the parents disagree

My kids are adults now but we’ve always had those talks in the car. It was always easier for them bc I wasn’t looking at them. Should note, they also ask crazy questions, drive safe!

I’m 18, my brother 15, my sister 21. As long as I can remember I’ve always subconsciously asked deep questions in the car but also as we got older these topics weren’t taboo in our house 1/?

My kids learned about love language in elementary to understand others better. They had a quiz about it after where you could add a comment about sometime you wish your parents wouldn’t do when 1/2

Yes! I always did this. It also gives a natural end to the conversation when you arrive at your destination. And kids not having to make eye contact makes it easier on them for sure.

I was the random moment mom. they walk into the kitchen so you smoke anything... the shock hits then the convo. did it to all 3 of mine with many topics.
