I have hiked Half Dome several times and I would agree the wooden planks should be closer to help avoid these types of accidents and deaths. 💔

That insane. Just did the hike in early June and it was lowkey brutal. Thankfully weather was on my side that day, never hike if you see dark clouds near by!

In this situation, I think if dark clouds show up, you should probably stay on top (unless it’s a thunderstorm) and wait it out… right? 🤔

When I did the cables if you wear a harness and have two ropes with clips there isn’t a single moment where you are unclipped and can fall. The park doesn’t need to change they just needed rope

I think the wood slats use the cable poles to stay in place so without more poles they can't do more slats. I wish Ferrata system use was more common, Ik it slows that section, but she'd be alive

What a beautiful young woman inside and out. My 💔 for all who knew and loved her. Half Dome should require a permit AND hikers should be harnessed with two clips. Also-lower amount of people who get permits per day to 150 instead of 300. Any rain in forecast-all climbs should be CANCELED! Lives lost and Search and Rescue costs and trauma for all witnesses aren’t worth the risk. My ❤️and thoughts are with this family.

I mean nobody is asking us to hike this. We do it on our own risk. Why did they have the hanker thing around their waist? The dad could ask people to be more careful

😢🙏 Shout out to Search and Rescue who risked their lives to retrieve the body, and to the trooper, Shawna Daly, who waited with him for hours in the rain and hail, then hiked out with him 🙏
