As a parent, I can attest that this is very true. I have apologized to my older kids in their late 20s that I wasn't the same parent in my 20s that I was in my 30s 40s.

I believe this 100 percent. I have 3 children all 4 years apart and they have all had different versions of me through me growing up and healing. which breaks my heart for my oldest❤️

I have told my older sisters (12 & 7yrs older than me) this ALL MY LIFE!!! They may have had a present, physically & energetically, mom. I did not.

I love Gabor Mate. It helped realizing that I got my parents when they were young and still healing from their own traumas. My siblings got more healed versions.

I’m grateful my parents did not show up the same for my sisters I fear that if my sisters had the same parents they wouldn’t have made it through that childhood I was the trial run and that’s ok
