I have some vibration in mine but I also hear a really loud sound when I'm costing in neutral sounds like birds chirping but when I accelerate it goes away

As someone who works at a Toyota dealer, I feel like ALOT of rear diffs get Mis diagnosed at shops and all the person needs is a U joint

Could it be the same problem if in all those same scenarios it makes a noise but no vibration? Trying to figure this out rn and only happens the first few min of driving and usually just low speeds

Funny you mention the front u-joint. In 22 years of being a mechanic I have never found a front u-joint that had failed

You can manipulate a driveshaft vibration with a big clamp if a weight is suspect

I think you’re doing a great job. I’ve watched you for quite a while and you’re doing a great job. Keep up the good work but the best thing to do is if you feel it in the seat to drive line problem.

I have a four-wheel-drive Pathfinder. It does not vibrate at all when I drive through the city. It only vibrates heavy when I’m on the expressway and goes away when I drive at low speed.

Do bad u-joints make a loud “click” when shifting from park to drive or reverse, not the shifting of gears, I think mine were held together by pressure and came apart when I put in the rebuilt transmission
