I don’t think it’s because of Michael Jordan or the US team. It’s only logical for any athletes whose security is a necessity. The Organization won’t be able to provide that.

Especially are everyone so famous. Other huge team sports such as Soccer dont have the best players participating because the Olympics is u23 for Soccer. Therefore it wouldnt be as crazy around the Soccer player cause it isnt the top players but usa has lebron, KD, Curry and so on. They would be like celebrities inside the village

I would be surprised if the NBA players on the other international teams are staying in the dorms either. It is a security issue, & I doubt the insurance the league carries for them would allow it. ❤️

Part of it is, the basbetkball series last longer. Archery, break dancing and BMX atheletes aren’t there longer than their event. So they don’t waste that many resources
