In July 2014, Lars Mittank was on holiday with his friends in Bulgaria. Whilst in a bar he got into a fight with a group of men and left the bar alone after the fight. His friends did not see him again until the next morning when he returned to the resort they were staying at. He went on to tell his friends that he had been beaten up by four men who had been hired by the group he had a disagreement with at the bar. After the fight Lars saw a doctor who told him he had suffered an injured jaw and a ruptured eardrum. The doctor advised Lars not the fly due to his injuries and prescribed him an antibiotic. When Lars got back from the doctor he told his friends he couldn’t travel back with them and that he was going to book a hotel closer to the airport. The day after his friends returned home, Lars began to act strangely. He called his mother and whispered to her that there were people who were trying to k*ll and rob him. He also asked her to cancel all of his credit cards. The CCTV cameras at the hotel caught him pacing up and down the hallways, looking out the windows and hiding in an elevator. At 1am he left the hotel and was gone for an hour, it is unclear as to where he had gone. The next morning he called his mom again, telling her that the people who were following him were getting closer. The last time Lars Mittank was seen was on July 8th 2014, the same day he had planned on returning home to Germany. Whilst at the airport Lars saw a doctor, the doctor told him that he was ok to fly but later said how nervous and erratic Lars was acting. Lars Mittank didn’t want to leave the doctor’s office and was wanting to talk to the doctor about the medication that he had been taking. A construction worker entered the doctors office, making Lars tremble. He yelled “ I don’t want to die here. I have to get out of here.” He then got up leaving behind all of his belongings. The airport security cameras captured him fleeing from the terminal. Outside the airport he was seen running away, climbing a fence, running into a meadow and sprinting off camera in the direction of a nearby forest. Lars Mittank was never seen again and is still missing 10 years later. Searches have been made in attempt to find him, but nothing has ever been found to indicate what may of happened to him. #truecrime #truecrimestory #fyp
