Growing up my mom made me feel abandoned and unimportant. I began to take on belief systems about myself as a child. I went through life unconsciously punishing myself for not being enough. In the way I talked to myself, saw myself and in using substances to feel anything but the emotional pain and loneliness. Looking to others to give me the love I didn’t get as a child. This looked like a lot of co dependent relationships ending horribly. Leaving me feel abandoned and unimportant all over again. When I realized my negative belief systems from childhood were the REASON my nervous system was constantly in fight or flight, I woke up. When I realized my nervous system was what was throwing my organ systems off balance and causing illness, I woke up. When I realized my body would not heal or be able to utilize supplements or nutrients until I regulated my nervous system I REALLY woke up. When I realized my toddler took on my nervous system as all children do, EVERYTHING CHANGED. I realized the key and beginning to my child’s healing journey WAS ACTUALLY MY HEALING.
