change your transmission fluid and filter every 10k miles keep the trans cooler clean or upgrade it it should last to 200 to 300 k

This but Ford with the 351 and E40D in the obs (not a bad transmission if you’re wanting to keep everything stock but if you want power there not ideal because you can’t go pass 310hp)

4l60 is a great transmission, they just don't have a good cooling system from the factory and no one services them. easy fixes

I really don't mind the 4l60. Had several that were pretty solid. My s10 blazers got sloppy after towing a buddy's explorer though.

the 4l60 is not a bad transmission, keep them cool and put a .500 boost valve and a sonnax super hold 2-4 servo in them and they are indestructable at or under 450hp with only 30 mins and $150

the problem isn't the trans the problems is ppl abuse that trans and ask way more out of it than it needs to take... I got 280k on a stock 4.8 silverado.. og running gear and yes I've towed with it
