My neighbors was starting to grow in my yard. I boiled water, cut bamboo at the base, poured hot water down the shaft in the ground, and it actually hasn’t grown back in over a year.

We loved a house til learning it had a bamboo infestation from the *neighbor’s* yard. The bamboo had infiltrated the foundation and grown so dense the damage couldn’t be assessed in the inspection. 😳

Use a pressure washer to expose the roots. All you have to do is lift the loose material with a shovel.

Bamboo should only be sold with a large container to contain the roots so it won't spread. I've seen people use a deep pond base for bamboo. Works wonders.
