Unless youโre working for the general public at a retail store, this doesnโt happen. You talk to your boss about working extra when youโre at work, not when they text you.

My boss has only ever sent one text after hrs, and that was a message from IT to not turn on the computers. We were cyber hacked. If they text after hrs we get 2 hrs pay

I told one boss I had to change my hours, I couldn't work a specific day anymore, he asked if I could work specific other days & I said yes, he didn't change the schedule & for 2 weeks I worked /1

I stopped responding to my workplaces staffing phone bc theyโre always asking me to come in, and Iโm going on vacation in 2 days and have a feeling that they are going to text me to come to work

My last job would change my shift after midnight, I knew what time my shift was cause itโs the same time and they would write me up cause I was late. Sorry but I wouldnโt be able to work it any way
