I cut mine out. Best decision I ever made. I'm so much happier 😌 and at peace, no one to disappoint or feel judged by... and I'm not controlled anymore.

I've been NC for 13 years and my life has only continued to improve. My Mom was ultra controlling and I left home at 17 because of it. Toxic is still toxic, even if you're related. Big hugs❤️

And when you are ready it will be the best choice for you. Until then, find something that makes you happy and hold on to that with everything you’ve got. This is temporary ❤️🩹

I went no contact a couple of months ago and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. Been working up to it my whole life it feels. Trust in yourself and your needs and good luck 💗

I honestly would love to finish my school without talking to my family. I love them but they expect too much out of me and want me to constantly talk about school during my non school relax hours.😭👍

It gets better once you do. It’s so hard. But it’s worth it. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self that and a whole bunch of stuff to prepare for that. 🥹

When I was in my early 20s, I literally moved across the country so I could live my own life. My relationship with my parents really changed for the better after that.

Once you are living in your own place, things will settle down. You have control over where & when etc.

Yes! The only bargaining chip you have with your parents is your presence. Set boundaries. Communicate them clearly. If they are broken then cut them out. You can always try again down the road.

I don't think that will be necessary ...they will slowly get used to you building your own life and things will calm down. These are just growing pains. Breathe ♥️

It is always for the best, sometimes it doesn’t have to be forever. But space definitely needs to happen for things to grow.
