Trek to Makra Peak! This journey is one of the most thrilling hikes, and in this vlog, we start our mission from Islamabad. We chose to travel in our own cars – a Honda HRV and a Cultus 2021 model. After a quick maintenance check-up at H12 near McDonald’s and fueling up, we set off. Although I’ve already made a tour guide vlog from Islamabad to Shogran (link attached), in this vlog, I cut out that part of the journey to focus on the adventure ahead. We stopped midway at Balakot for a hearty breakfast, then continued our 4-hour drive to Shogran. Upon arrival, we booked a hotel room, offloaded our bags, and quickly parked our cars. Time was ticking, and we were already late for our hike to Makra Peak. After a brief preparation for the 3-hour trek, we picked up a jeep from Shogran to Siri Paye Meadows without stopping, as I’ve already covered Siri Paye in another vlog.We reached Siri Paye at 6 PM, knowing it was risky to summit Makra Peak at night. Despite the challenges, we pushed forward. The sunset completed at 8 PM, and we sped up our pace. The trek was breathtakingly beautiful, and we were in awe of the scenery. With seven friends, all experienced hikers, we reached Makra Peak at 9 PM. It was pitch black and extremely cold at the top, so we didn’t stay long and decided to head back to Shogran.Makra Peak, located in the Mansehra District in the Hazara Region of the Himalayas in northern Pakistan, stands at 3,885 meters high and is almost 200 kilometers from Islamabad. The trek, known for its difficulty due to snow and steep gradients, offers stunning views of Hazara and Azad Kashmir. The mountain’s glacier feeds the Kunhar River and has been named Makra Peak due to its spider-like shape in the snow.Always be prepared with water bottles, raincoats, lights, waterproof shoes, trekking sticks, hats, sunblock, and food. Our hotel cost 12K per night, accommodating all of us comfortably, and the jeep fare was 4K (though we paid 7K for waiting till 10:30 PM). You can also find camps at Siri Paye ranging from 2K-4K.#explore #siripaye #makrapeak #siripayemeadows #reelitfeelit #reelsinstagram #skardu #naran #narankaghan #hunza #gilgit #fairymeadows #discoverpakistan #foryou
