@salsamari: It is likely that as a new dual language teacher you will not be getting the training you need AND deserve. ➡️Unfortunately, new teachers are often “trained” by other teachers in passing ➡️Since they are worried about their own classrooms, you will get bits and pieces as questions come up but still may feel unsure, so you wing it. ➡️Its hard to know if the advice you are given is aligned to research… but you take their advice anyway, because its all you since they have been a teacher longer. But here is what you can do: 🗣️Speak up- Advocate for what you need in terms of training, orientation, supports. 🗣️Get yourself a mentor that is willing to support your personal growth. 🗣️Create a list of questions and schedule a meeting with our leadership team.
