The number of times I've had to tell patients I have to schedule something 10-15 business out because that is how long an elective auth request can take to get thru the system.

Yes,and they only pay on average 20 days in SNF for Hip fractures.

One of the reasons there’s so much waste. In the Medicare system. They can’t review a claim before paying it. A lot of orthopedics are guilty of defensive medicine to avoid malpractice suits.

It’s not good when you have so few specialists. You often get bumped off the best and maybe “only” doctors because they get booked in that time period.

For my life ANY denial is a non starter for Health insurance. Insurance companies are not doctors and their No.1 priority is their profit and not your health

I see denials for not meeting the medical necessity criteria for certain procedures. Anyone can access the criteria to meet approval for a procedure. Just google Medicare and the procedure name
