my childhood dog was intended to be a hunting dog. she was very anxious and hated the sound of a gun so she became our household dog. that girl was my best friend for the first 12 years of my life.

we have a yellow lab who is a great retriever. we got a brittany spaniel to be a pointer but she’s just too energetic. she’s great with kids and has become a great house dog

My lab flat out refused his service dog training for 6 months (10 weeks to 8 months). So he got released from the program and is now the best boy I could ever ask for. Dogs are more than their “jobs”

I adopted a failed hunting dog. She was bred multiple times, abused, and abandoned. The poor girl is terrified of any loud noises especially guns and took 2 years to not be scared of new people. (1/2)

I have a 3 year old female yellow lab that is gun shy. She won’t hunt but she is loved and snuggled under my blanket like a chihuahua. My chocolate lab is currently sharing my pillow.

We have a small shorkie, she had no training and just loves to retrieve the invasive red squirrels my dad shoots. she loves looking out the window all day and when she sees one she will bark to alert us. She wasn’t meant to be a hunting dog, but I really think it’s not about the breed, more the personality of the dog. Some breeds are just better

my dad bought a lab for hunting & it didn’t work out & she became his baby. he bought another lab who can hunt & she is also a baby. then he bought another one to baby 😭
