the point of sugar free jello is to avoid sugar, nothing to do with the calories

Doctor Pokemon :
Hmm I checked this at my store and the full sugar had like double calories I think

But I had gastric bypass and can't handle too much sugar so SF it is for me.

you need way less product for the fake sweetner to sweeten though. to get it to taste the same you need x4 the amount of the full sugar, so not really the same amount of calories.

Janet :
It’s not the calories. For those of us whose bodies are unable to process sugar normally, the sugar negatively impacts our blood sugar levels causing a spike.

How much water you put? The calories are per mixed volume

Maybe that's why I can't find the sugar free version in Canada, not even at Walmart!

No lol. They both make the same amount of pudding. Sugar free requires 7g to make 1/2 cup while the other one is like 27g.

ehhhh but i think the weights are slightly diff. the sugar free is lighter so you get more (more flavor & sweetness) per serving

That’s because 1gram of carbohydrates has 4calories. That’s why people like the lower 7g of carbs in the sugar free version rather than 25g in the regular. This isn’t rocket science ✌️

That’s actually crazy

Isn’t it because the sugar free includes sucralose etc and the full sugar requires adding granulated sugar?

same grams maybe but the “jello” amount per gram is way higher in the sugar free - which is what you’re actually using it for

It’s pretty common for carbs/sugar to be swapped out for protein or fat in sf products. For diabetic folks like me, I’ll take that trade any day!! Ps. If you’re feeding other people, don’t make these

Caleb Pool :
Yeah but that extra weight is coming from sugars (a box a quarter the size makes the same amount) SF makes a half cup serving at abt 30 cals where full sugar is about 100 (70 cal which is 17 g sugar

_renby_ :
Artificial sweeteners weigh less, you need to look at the overall volume after it’s prepared to compare servings. Also same cal count doesn’t matter if it’s sugar you need/want to avoid.

lol it's more in weight because you need way more sugar to equal the sweetness of the fake sugar needed in sugar free pudding. you're not getting anymore product except sugar.

Jodes :
This guy is looking at this all wrong. Both boxes make the same volume of pudding. Calculate the macros after the pudding is made. The SF pudding weighs less than the sugar version.

But the real one has sugar.. ? these content creators making protien recipes using sugar free jello is for that reason. It's sugar free. The sole reason is because we don't want the sugar in it
