@carolinemiddelsdorf: People with trauma often laugh or make sarcastic remarks about their experiences as a coping mechanism. Here are a few reasons why you might do this: ➡️By using humor or sarcasm, you create a psychological distance/disconnect from your pain and trauma, making it easier to deal with in the moment. ➡️Humor and sarcasm can provide you with a sense of control over the narrative of your trauma, allowing you to take charge of how it's perceived. ➡️You might feel that expressing your trauma in a light-hearted way is more socially acceptable and less likely to make others uncomfortable or worry you burden them. Deep down we fear being judged and abandoned all over again. ➡️Laughing or being sarcastic can be a way for you to avoid confronting the full impact of your emotions, as facing the trauma head-on might be too distressing. ➡️Over time, invalidating and dismissing your own feelings can become a habitual response to avoid the pain associated with your trauma. These coping strategies can provide temporary relief, but they may also prevent you from fully processing and healing from your traumatic experiences. ❤️‍🩹In my course I guide you towards a safe expression and how to navigate your emotions and actually start feeling your feelings.❤️‍🩹 For more information send a message with START👈🏻 #traumatok #childhoodtraumacheck #ptsd #cptsd #psychology #traumahealing #childhoodtrauma #childhoodneglect #emotionalneglect
