older generations didn't have the same costs. so many modern conveniences that cost a lot of money. it adds up. but older generations were more ok with working extreme hours to be successful as well.

my parents literally flaunt their ability to own a home, cottage, multiple vehicles & take vacations while being retired while I can't pay rent, work 2 jobs & they refuse to help my sister & I.

Kinda believe it.. But it's mostly due to corporate greed. It's an unrealistic business strategy to claim profits quarter after quarter, year after year. At some point it needs to end

I'm gen z just turned 27. Went to college and worked, graduated no debt. Saved over 130k landed a job that pays 130k a year. After all that. I still cannot afford to buy a home. Make it make sense.

It cost me 5 dollars for a bag of Tostitos, and 5 dollars for the cheese sauce, so I can afford 2 bags of chips and one dip for every hour I work(most places I’ve worked give me 14-16 dollars an hour)

Did all the things, got the degree, work in medicine, and I’m no closer to buying a home than a decade ago at 18. I’m actually further from it because of all the “good” debt my parents helped me get🙄
