@annefrankhouse: It is exactly 80 years ago today that Anne Frank and the other people in hiding were discovered and arrested. In the morning on the 4th of August 1944, police officers turned up at Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam and searched the building. They ended up on the landing with the revolving bookcase and discovered the hiding place and the people who lived there. For more than two years they have been living with the constant fear of discovery. Now, without any warning, the moment had come.
