There was a story that the Ensign published called something like “The Miracle of the Bird Seed” where two Elders ran out of money for food and they were “blessed” to find a bag of bird seed on sale

We would have vomit, syringes and broken bottles in our front yard in one area. Our apartment was also broken into and our furniture placed on the roof. Super safe for sister missionaries

Ya’ll are ridiculous. I served in Mexico from 88-90. Called home twice a year. I was robbed at gun point on two occasions. Where is your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual strength? 💪

My missionary was shot at several times on his mission. I think they had to have 3 windows replaced on the car they drove and no they weren’t the target of the violence. &mugged at least once a week.

My nephew recently came home from Central America after a kid(gang member)he was about to baptize confessed to murdering several people. He was terrified to be there and begged to go home.

Church is also not training them to keep themselves safe. Missionary in the uk interrupted a grieving man on a bus this week with “you’ll be with your son again”. Missionary was hospitalised. 🥺

I worked for a year at multiple jobs to save money for my mission. I sacrificed 2 yrs and the money to and I am so glad I did. Serving a mission had a huge positive influence on my life ❤️

I dated a Guatemala RM and her doctor confirmed she caught tuberculosis from her apartment. Lifelong disease and the church wouldn't even cover the diagnostic medical visit.

when I lived in Lima peru, we often heard from the missionaries horrific stories of them and others when they've been put in violent areas and aren't allowed to leave. absolutely abusive.
