Always give notice. If they don’t let you work it. They have now fired you without cause, regardless if it’s at will or not. You now qualify for unemployment benefits.

What you do give your notice saying with a heavy heart you give notice because you don’t want to sue the company. They will be shaken and spend 2 weeks trying to find out what you mean by notice 😳

When I was planning to leave jobs I would tell the new company I want to give a notice. But can start on Monday if they don't honor it with that notice on the previous Friday.

Can you discuss a hospital defining full time work differently for different jobs? Some jobs are 30 hours a week for full time while other jobs are 32 or 36 hours? Is this legal ?

I gave notice one time and stopped getting scheduled then got scheduled for two days they needed me. I never got the new schedule because I hadn’t been there. They called me freaking out. I laughed.

I've seen this happen to an associate attorney. He gave a 2 week, they then said they'd give him 1 week, and then managing partner told him to leave THAT day!
