@sfjazz: SFJAZZ presents this Jazz Minute – a brief look at important figures, movements, and moments in jazz history and the present day, in both the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world.    In this episode, we look back at the rise of San Francisco’s famous Fillmore District and its importance to the city’s rich jazz heritage, tracing its roots in the Second Great Migration to its heyday in the 1950s and early 1960s, when it was the largest and most vibrant jazz scene on the West Coast. #SFJAZZ #JazzTok #Jazz #JazzHistory #TerenceBlanchard
