I feel like the teachers should at least call and ask. Certain Parents buy things for their kid specifically because they know it fits what their kid likes 🤷🏾♀️

Personally my mom always sent an extra backpack with us full of coloring supplies, notebooks, pencils and cases, erasers, folders and flash cards she also always provided cleaning supplies

I’m a teacher. Of course the special stuff you bought for him will be with him like his pencil box and back pack. The generic stuff goes in a bin and I pass it out as needed to who ever needs it.

Same, I brought 5 of each thing they asked for this year. I wanted to be a teacher and I didn’t because when you find out what’s going on it’s not for the weak. I support teachers in every way.

Community sharing just makes sense to me honestly. My mom used to always give me extra to share and would ask my teacher to reach out about class room items needed.

1st year high school teacher here. I have purchased over $650 worth of supplies (scissors, paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, highlighters, etc) just so I don’t have to hear anything about “community sharing.”

I think every kid should have their own pencil box with their crayons, marks, and pencils that their parents bought for them. Kids whose parents purchased nothing can get things from donation.

Most students especially younger grades can’t/don’t manage their supplies properly. It would all sit in their desk if teacher didn’t collect and organize class supplies

I agree and disagree what I buy for my kid is for my kids but way I was raised is to get extra for class my stuff in my backpack than I have box pull of extra supply’s for the class is what my mom

For me it's the fact that I brought my child all Spiderman school supplies, to be taken by his teacher and put in a treasure box. Say it's for the class and I'll buy all basic supplies no problem.

When my daughter entered kindergarten the teacher took all the kids supplies and stored them away (for next year) and gave the kids hand me downs with other kids names scribbled off them. I was blewww

1) community sharing is usually K-5 2) they only “share” glue sticks, crayons, construction paper, loose leaf paper and pencils. (If the teacher does notebooks buy generic) 3) it’s not that serious
