Mashing the clutch to the floor while you’re moving is what breaks the clutch brake

I argued a mechanic that clutch brakes get pre greased on install... whole truck is greased 5000 to 7500mis.

Seems the more time our guys spend in D.C. traffic is when they break them. Quick stops and they know when it happens before they hear it grind.

personally never had an issue with the Babcock 2 piece and seeing as how the one piece shears just like the 2 piece when you mash the clutch while it's rolling I choose the 15 minute fix every time

I put the Babcock 2 piece in for the fleet I was maintaining. I agree the only way to break the tangs is driver error. I would see the same trucks every week/day. Lots of new employee test runs!

When we get our clutches wore down and the brake won’t stop the transmission we slide one of them fibers in place. We cut the fibers at an angle on just one side. Spread it open just enough to slide o
