There's a module under the steering wheel which goes on mercs. It's a steering wheel out and front dash out and wait for a new module. They aren't cheap either.

Mine did that too (car though) my dash cam zapped my car battery completely flat so couldn’t get in. Dont plug anything into smoker port thing over night, remains live

this happened to me and my merc. didn't leave my lights on but battery went flat. couldn't get in, had to replace battery then all worked

Have your kids dropped your keys I dropped my Mercedes Vito key it did exactly the same I had to get work to bring out my spare key which sorted it
