I’m from Denmark and we sometimes buy a smoked mackerel and mush it with a fork onto rye bread and then a little mayo and spring onions. Such a good lunch❤️

This is so much like Egyptian herring. The recipe is from zzz the ancient pharaohs. This is how they used to persevere food. So they’re the origin.

You can try making a salad (potato salad) with boiled potatoes , smoked mackerel , onions , olives,prasley and vinegar , its sooo good 🤗
