nothing really justifies the sheer amount of SA in berserk. I think the beauty in berserk art as well as the transformation of guts character throughout the story really parallels with the authors

The SA gets to a point where it’s not even for the lore, I strongly believe muira had some problems but as the story continues SA gets dramaticly less to the point where it’s not even there…

Yea its a lot plus with the demons part is inspired by many stories of demons haunting medieval European folk & sa being seen as pure malevolent evil

It’s pretty awful the one with Griffith especially even when I knew it was coming from Eclipse I had to skip some pages with my jaw slack that was so unnecessary it’s a good thing it’s peak otherwise

Berserk came out in 1989 - so the SA is less of something that I think he abuses and more so something that hasn’t aged well for modern audiences. Almost all of the SA scenes in Berserk are done (1/2)

Yeah that horse scene for me felt mad gratuitous. Even the introduction of Wylad and The Black Dog Knights felt over the top. He does mature as a writer as the series continues though

I hate the overuse of SA in the story arguably only one scene is actually plot relevant and the rest is just shock value During the last ~150 chapter it gets better though
