Thus the only way to get sick from a mushroom is by consuming it. There is one mushroom called Fire Coral (Podostroma) that contains trichothecene mycotoxins that can pass through skin, avoid touching this mushroom specifically. . There is no foolproof way to determine edible versus toxic mushrooms. Instead you have to learn each mushroom one by one. This may seem daunting, but imagine you’re playing an RPG and learning about each mushroom requires experience for you to level up.
