They may find it challenging to initiate or maintain relationships due to difficulties in interpreting social cues. Autistic Women: Generally more interested in social interactions and may work hard to understand and engage socially. They often have a strong desire to connect with others but may still face challenges with social nuances. Restricted Interests Autistic Men: Interests often align with "systemizing" subjects like technology, science, or specific hobbies. These interests can be intense and openly expressed, sometimes without regard for social appropriateness. Autistic Women: May have interests that align more with socially accepted hobbies, making them less conspicuous. They often hide the intensity of these interests or present them in socially acceptable ways. Masking Autistic Men: Engage in masking less frequently or intensely. When they do mask, it can lead to stress or burnout but is often less acknowledged. Autistic Women: Noted for their ability to mask autistic traits, adopting social behaviors to blend in.
