I had that happen once. Purchased the trans from the dealer and I had the dealer call the rebuilder and they got me all the strategies

usually they come with paperwork that has that information on it but definitely a good idea to double check and get pictures if it doesn't, same with their AWD transfer cases

2007+ ford edges all use it. I used forscan with a $30 usb adapter that allows programming. You can use either strategy or body id to program. It’ll pull it from the server to program it.

The selling dealer can contact Holman (the company that remanufactures ford powertrain) and they usually can tell you the solenoid ID info

things like this is why I'm doing a swap on a 2002 Mazda from a car that has a Midwest rotted body to one that has a trash motor/interior but a mostly rust free body that's easily fixed.

We recently had a 2018 or 2019 Ford Escape with ~60k that was slipping badly, and put a fresh Ford reman in it. Either I got really lucky with FJDS or Ford preprogrammed it when they shipped it...

had a issue with kia on this. had to get 3 different transmissions until I got one with a QR code. lkq wasn't helpful, nightmare

Dealer tech here, just a heads up, I have had brand new valve body result in a cel and dtc of PCM/tcm misconfigured. spw the valve body. software or hardware, you have to replace it again.
