This book is hilarious. It’s such a solid look at the “neck beard.” I do like media where everyone is awful, like sopranos and always sunny.

I grew up in New Orleans and that book is iconic. there is a statue to Ignatius on Canal street. he captured the dialect and flavor like no other.

One of my favorite book, but I get what you mean. I'm biased since I'm from nola, but I think the reason I like it is why you didn't. The structure is like hearing gossip in a close community.
