The other morning I threw a fit. Told the 3 year old that it was my turn because she already has 3 fits before 7am and it wasn’t fair that she got all the turns. 🤷♀️

I work in behavior management. it's literally a tactic we recommend lol. doing something silly and out of the norm often works as a distraction from that meltdown. don't feel guilt. it helped change

Whenever my 4yr old can tell she’s gone too far she’ll stop and have all the audacity to tell ME to calm down and just breathe 😂

No this is good! When littles are in a meltdown it is literally impossible for them to process anything. It’s a reset. You found a fun way to help her calm down! Then you can talk about it after ♥️

I read somewhere that if you start singing one of their favourite songs but change some of the lyrics when they’re annoyed, they want to correct you but the brain can’t be in meltdown and remember
