Cause they have to see 30+ patients in an 8 hr time frame on top of reviewing your chart, labs, sending scripts, arguing w insurance companies to get stuff approved, minor procedures, late appts etc😋

This feedback needs to be provided. A physician can be incredibly behind and rushed, however you should never feel rushed as a patient. YOU are the number one priority.

I generally spend at least the full 15 mins in the pt room. Usually 20-30. This leaves documentation out. So then I spend 2-3 hours after each work day doing this. We’re drowning.

I sometimes have 4 to 6 patients an hour including both consults and treatment which is kind of wild but there’s too much need and so few providers 😭

Yeah, billed amount is $300, the insurance pays like $60. They have a 17 min visit, 8-10 min to login to EMR, chart, send the code to billing, etc. total time ~30min. They make 80-85% of paid amount.

When you make an appointment, tell the person making the appointment you have questions and need more time. They’ll book for more time. If you don’t, you get the meet and greet version.

I work at a federally qualified health center. Doctors are allocated 10 visits in the AM and 10 in the PM each 20 min each. Some doctors are given more if there are urgent visits but without (1/2)

Bc insurance repayments don’t care about patient care - it’s all about procedures :( esp for derm. They don’t get $300 btw they get like $40 for a visit.
