I refused to make appointments of any kind for my kids once they turned 18. I gave them the contact info and instructions on what to do/say and the rest was on them.

My 13 and 16 year olds speak for themselves at Dr. appointments. I'm there for backup if needed for now. The doctors address them directly as well.

I work in healthcare. I have had 20 year olds tell me they don’t know how to do something & ask for assistance. Yes! Let me help you & advise you. But don’t have your parents do it.
